The Truth Within
Description
My thesis partner, Juan Rincon, and I choose to make our 3 minute animated short film a Film Noir. We gathered inspiration from the more recent movie genre Neo Noir.
We wanted to make a piece that had all the typical pillars of a Film Noir like: chiaroscuro lighting, the use of shadows, a hard-boiled detective and a femme fatale, but we also wanted to combine aspect of Neo Noir like for example, using color in lighting to enhance emotion or tension in a scene.
The Story
In a Make-a-Bear Store, a hard-boiled teddy bear detective is alerted by his lover of a dead body that has been found. Upon arriving at the crime scene, he starts unveiling clues which set him on a path to discovering the truth: Danger lurks closer than he thinks.
The Process
Emotions Test: Responsible for modelling, texturing, rigging, animating and Xgen on the bunny character and the doctor character.
